[All passages shall be] closed or open, as shall be agreed, but this without injury and damage to the owners.
9. His Royal Majesty of Sweden Gustavus Adolphus and his allies shall, in turn, neither [attack] the Duke of Bavaria, nor any other Prince or state of the Catholic League a coalition of Catholic German states whose territories he has not yet occupied—with the exception of the Bishop of Bamberg—nor shall he impose any war burdens of any kind upon them, but shall foster and observe a sincere neutrality with them.
10. Regarding the locations of the Lower Palatinate original: "Palatinatus inferioris" taken from the Duke of Bavaria, as many as were his: these shall remain with the same Duke of Bavaria until an amicable settlement between him and the Count Palatine Frederick V is established shortly through the mediation of the Kings of France and Britain. His Royal Majesty shall restore to the Archbishops of Trier original: "Trevirensi" and Cologne original: "Coloniensi" those things which were taken from them, with the City of Speyer original: "Spirensi" being excepted and left to himself meaning under Swedish control.
11. The provinces and places of the Catholic Princes and states occupied by His Royal Majesty besides the aforementioned locations: the Duke of Bavaria and the associated Catholic Princes of Germany shall not reclaim them in any way, either by themselves or through others, but shall leave them in the hands of His Royal Majesty until a universal negotiation meaning a general peace conference.
12. All Evangelical Protestant Orders, States, Princes, Counts, Nobles, Cities, and Communities, whoever they may be, shall be under the protection of His Royal Majesty of Sweden, and shall not be afflicted in any way, openly or indirectly, to their prejudice by the said Catholic Princes of Germany.
13. Commerce between His Royal Majesty of Sweden, his subjects, and his Evangelical allies on one side, and the Duke of Bavaria, his confederated Catholic German Princes, and their subjects on the other, shall be free and shall not be hindered in any way.
14. Prisoners on both sides shall be released without ransom; specifically, the Administrator of Magdeburg Christian William of Brandenburg captured by Tilly Johann Tserclaes, Count of Tilly, a prominent Catholic general shall be dismissed without harm.
15. For the sake of greater security, the Most Christian King of France Louis XIII shall guarantee that the Duke of Bavaria and his associated Catholic German Princes, States, and Cities will sacredly observe this neutrality in all its articles; but if they should act against it, then he shall stand for His Royal Majesty of Sweden, and shall move his arms with all his might against the violators and compel them to satisfaction.
