vitriol stones crystals of metal sulfate will grow. These have a wonderful sweetness. Dry them and, in this way, make as much of the vitriol as you need.
Extract the copper from the very best verdigris green copper pigment using distilled wine vinegar. When the vinegar becomes colored, filter the extract and temper it with hot water. Distill three parts of the water away in the Bain-Marie. Place the rest in a damp spot and turn it all into vitriol as is the custom of the artists. Make as much of this vitriol as you need.
Take one pound of this vitriol made from the verdigris. Dry it diligently without fire and powder it small. Put one pound of it into a flask. In another flask, put one pound of powdered vitriol of iron. Now pour the attractive water, which you should weigh carefully, over the vitriol until it stands three fingers deep above it. Seal
