This continues the previous entry for Adrian VI ...study of letters, he attained the patronage of many, especially the Emperor Charles V.
All have found an easy sense of this prediction, because when we see the Lilies, we understand Paul III Farnese is shown.
Indeed, Julius III could not be more clearly signified, since he had mountains in his homeland, his surname, and his insignia.
Marcellus II was called the Cardinal of the Holy Cross before his Pontificate; therefore, Crosses are seen in his square.
The circle which surrounds the insignia of the Caraffa house has almost the figure of a vial. The width of this space is cut by straight lines, which although in this place they seem to decline to the side, it is not to be wondered at; for from this the Author creates the obscurity of his figure.
The signs which portended Pius V have an open meaning, as lines of red and saffron colors cross his heraldic circle.
It is known to all that this tail of the Dragon is noted, which Gregory XIII had in the use of his insignia, while by it is indicated that which it lacks.
Among the brothers of the Minorite order, Sixtus V was called by the name of Felix. And since he had his origin from Monte Alto High Mountain, without doubt, the sense of the figure is clear, saying Felix Montaltus.
The heart-shaped figure of this square suggests the Chestnut Castagna family, when we recognize that which is contained within it by using metonymy the substitution of a name for an attribute. Especially, however, since the two letters A with a cross and R say "Archbishop of Rossano" Archiepiscopus Rossanensis. For this Pontiff Urban VII was once the pastor of this Church.
For a long time it was obscure to many what meaning the characters of the letters read in this area had, when we wish to apply them to Gregory XIV of the Sfrondati family. But we say the Wheel does not fail if it does not fall from memory that for so long everyone saw the vacancy of the supreme prelacy, after which he himself was elevated to it. And we shall say: "Sfrondatus will be adored after a long dispute."
Finally, we have Innocent IX prefigured by the letters C and S, which announced him as the Cardinal of the Four Saints Santi Quattro Coronati. The sign which is seen to come out hooked from the letter S has almost the figure of an iron tool suitable for cutting, nor does it differ in its curvature from the likeness of the palm with which the Martyrs of Christ are usually marked. By these things, I think the meaning of that mark is restricted, as it shows it ought to be understood concerning those saints who were struck in the head. Or it shows that they will not be of just any order, but only of that which carries the palm of their glorious struggle.

This Wheel was held among the most grave men in Rome as unique and of great truth, devised by a certain genius of supreme learning and name. From there, in years past, it was carried to other parts. One diligent and curious seeker of ancient things, a citizen of Udine from Friuli, published it with his own attestation and that of others, stating that it was seen in the City while Pius IV was assumed to the Pontificate. In subsequent elections, it is found to be true and is read, as is clearly evident.
