Concerning the Supreme Pontiffs, from Martin the Fifth.

FIRST.

A strong column shall be raised, and it shall end the schisms; then there shall be peace in the whole world. original: "Erigetur columna fortis..." - Refers to the Colonna family.

II.

The Venetian snake shall raise its head; with flight and the sword, he shall scatter the nation.

III.

He shall come forth from a lowly field, and in his sight, every living thing shall exult.

IIII.

A bull shall come from the west and shall show the strength of his old age. original: "Bos erit ab occidente..." - Refers to the Borgia bull.

Piety shall rise to convert the impious, but in the way, his paths shall be crushed.

VI.
