It would tinge every impure thing in the world, or even a single grain, so that it immediately shines more pure than pure gold.
The Ferment Fermentum the yeast or catalyst remains, that last particle entering our Tincture Tinctura the transformative essence.
It indicates the certain way of penetrating impure metal with a fixed course like Ariadne In mythology, Ariadne provided the thread to navigate the labyrinth, so that Theseus, free from the impure prison of the labyrinth, may deserve to wear the shining crown of the king.
This Fermentation, therefore, is done in such a manner:
Let a very thin plate be made of gold purified in the highest degree.
Let Vulcan the god of fire, representing alchemical heat join this plate gently with the Stone in one bridal chamber.
Afterward, with the fire increased stronger, let him compel them to continue their union for three nights and as many melting days.
Thus Gold, adorned with spiritual gifts and a subtle vigor, penetrates all impure metals that it encounters.
For the Stone Lapis the Philosopher's Stone works nothing, and would never tinge anything, unless it has been fermented by the joined Gold Aurum Gold.
It rejoices in its own kind, and when this is well associated, the Tincture enters the body.
It brings forth the impure, dissolved from its own filth, in a pure garment.
Thus of the fermented Stone, thus rightly prepared for this divine use of love veneris usum the chemical joining or "marriage" of substances in tinting;
let one portion be taken for a thousand parts;
indeed, even for innumerable parts, according as the Tincture has been multiplied by cooking, to be mixed with ignited metals in flux.
And behold, a new birth noble with precious Gold!
