The apostle Paul, in his exhortation to the Hebrews, warned them to look for the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ; and he says: "To those who look for Him, He will appear the second time, without sin, for salvation." 2 Thessalonians 1: "The Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with His mighty angels in flaming fire, taking vengeance on those who do not know God and who do not obey the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, when He shall come to be glorified in His saints and to be admired by all those who believe."
The same exhortation is given by St. Peter: "To be looking for and hastening the coming of the day of God." We may find this throughout the writings of the apostles. If we then compare the words of the Prophets with our Savior's sayings in His Gospel, we can see how all three agree in one likeness regarding what we are exhorted to earnestly contend for in the end—to awaken mankind to the fulfillment of the scriptures.
Now the time is drawing near for the Revelation to be fulfilled: that the ancient serpent, which is the devil and Satan, shall be bound for a thousand years and cast into the bottomless pit, and shut up, with a seal set upon him, so that he shall deceive the nations no more until the thousand years are fulfilled.
