A dispute between the woman and the powers of darkness

Satan. Then now I will answer you from your dream. You say you will not give up your faith in God; but find an excuse for him, as he finds an excuse for you: and though you confess you have been foiled; yet your faith continues; because the spirit has wisdom and art to drown your senses; but it cannot drown the senses of an all-wise God; though you say it is Satan that answers you: but now I tell you, from the men, I showed you your mistake in your dream. The three men that came to you first, were Bruce, Foley, and Webster Stanhope Bruce, Thomas Foley, and William Webster were early and prominent supporters of Joanna Southcott, and their faith comes from hell, as you judge; and the large company that came after, are those that will come after.
