He moves to the South, carrying his Wand raised in front of his face. He traces the— equal-armed cross —in the South and utters the Sacred Name: ADONAI. Lord of hosts / King of hosts

He moves in the same manner to the West, performs the same action, and utters the Sacred Name: EH-YEH. I AM / essence of divinity

He moves in the same manner to the North, performs the same action, and utters the Sacred Word: AGLA. You are mighty forever, Lord

He returns in the same manner to the East, having thus walked around the Temple. This is the Purification Assoilment of the Temple, and is a realization of God's reign as an Indwelling Presence in the world of physical things. The Members have faced each direction in turn, following the Master, who again faces the East, extends his arms like a cross and says:

He shall give His Angels charge

Master of the Temple.—Before me, RAPHAEL. Behind me, AURIEL. At my right hand, MICHAEL. At my left hand, GABRIEL. And above me the HOLY SHEKINAH Divine Presence, the Glory of GOD in His Temple.

This is the Angelic Formula, which brings the Holy Hills around the Jerusalem of the Temple and makes the Temple itself like a ring of Holy Hills around its own inner Jerusalem. He finishes as he began, with the Sealing Prayer, which signifies the closing of the gates within and without against images of evil. Every Member should join in this Sacred Work, repeating the words mentally so that it may have an effect on them.
