The first order of the Rosy Cross [...] Part 1

Master of the Temple.—Do you confirm, Brother Zelator, that he returns in the name of his mission, to begin a work of redemption?

Brother Zelator.—He seeks to lead what has begun toward a perfect conclusion original: "term".

Master of the Temple.—GOD made the outer world just as He made the inner world. May the Peace of the Lord fill those who are seeking His Light. I give you permission to admit A . . . B . . ., who from now on in these grounds original: "precincts" puts aside his earthly titles and status, receiving from us the name that represents his aspiration upon entering here among us. He will be known hereafter as Brother May Your Kingdom Come original: "Frater Adveniat Regnum" (or another name), and may he who enters the Kingdom receive the Crown of Life. Assistant Brother Zelator, with the uplifted Wand of your Office, by the purifying Sign of Fire and in the Holy Water of Regeneration, go forward with your Assistant Officers and receive him who has been called.

This is done accordingly. The lights are dimmed. The Doorkeeper opens the door and withdraws immediately. The Candidate enters the Portal, led by the Guide of the Paths. They move slowly forward, preceded by the Assistant Brother Zelator, as the Light-Bearer original: "Lucifer" of the Temple, with a raised Lamp, and followed by the Brothers Incense-Bearer original: "Thurificans" and Water-Bearer original: "Aquarius", who stood on either side of the threshold as they entered. The Portal is closed and secured.

Guide of the Paths (as he leads the Candidate).—Darkness is also God's servant. Darkness shall lead His servant.

Brother Incense-Bearer.—The treasure of the hidden fire shall shine within it.
