Surely there can be little doubt that Arthur Edward Waite is the greatest living Christian mystic; his ability as an author, spanning an almost unbelievable period of sixty years, is best appreciated by considering his original works, translations, annotations, and so on, which total more than one hundred and twenty-five volumes. His depth of wisdom, keen insight into the fundamental realm, powers of depiction and presentation—not to mention his ability as a symbolist and student of the occult—appropriately establish him as a leader in his chosen field. However, it is perhaps through his poems that Dr. Waite finds his best method of presenting his own mystical views of life, and we are most happy to have the opportunity of presenting this short collection of five poems original: "microscopic quintology" from his pen.
Any comment concerning the five poems of this work would immediately justify both criticism and objection; therefore, they are presented in their own style of interpretation, free from the comments and explanations of another writer. It remains equally unnecessary to state that we hope this presentation will meet with the hearty and appreciative reception that such a literary work deserves.
