It is also said: whoever divorces his wife shall give her a Scheidebrieff a formal letter or certificate of divorce. Deuteronomy 24:1. Matthew 19:7. Mark 10:4. Luke 16:18.

But I say to you, whoever divorces his wife (unless it is for adultery) causes her to commit adultery, and whoever marries a divorced woman commits adultery.

Furthermore, you have heard that it was said to those of old: You shall not take a false oath, and you shall keep your oath to God. Exodus 20:7. Leviticus 19:12. Deuteronomy 5:11.
