The eye is the light of the body.

If your eye is single einfältig simple, sincere, healthy, or focused on one thing, then your whole body will be full of light. Luke 11:34.

But if your eye is evil ein Schalck literally a rogue or wicked one; here meaning unhealthy, envious, or clouded, then your whole body will be dark. If then the light that is in you is darkness, how great will that darkness itself be?

No one can serve two masters Herren; either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will cling to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and Mammon Mammon wealth personified or material riches. Luke 16:13.

Therefore I say to you: do not worry for your life, what you will eat and drink, nor for your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food Speise? And the body more than clothing Kleidung? Psalm 55:23. Luke 12:22. 1 Peter 5:7.
