3. Blessed are those who bear sorrow, where godly mourning is found. They sigh over and lament their own sins and the sins of others. Those who walk sadly for this reason and often stand before God with tears shall be comforted, both here on earth and then there in heaven.
4. Blessed are the pious hearts where meekness gentleness and patience can be felt. They endure scorn and defiance and gladly give way to everyone. They do not seek their own revenge but entrust the matter to God. The Lord will protect them so that they shall yet possess the land.
5. Blessed are those who longingly strive for righteousness and faithfulness, so that in their deeds and life there is no violence or injustice. Those who love equity and right, and are sincere, pious, and simple original: "schlecht," meaning straightforward or honest, hating greed, deceit, and wrong: God will let them be satisfied.
6. Blessed are those who, out of mercy, take up the needs of others. They are compassionate toward the poor and pray faithfully to God for them. Those who are helpful with advice and, where possible, with deeds, will receive help in return and obtain mercy.
7. Blessed are those who are found to be of a pure heart at all times, who love discipline and holiness in their works, words, and gestures. These people, who are not pleased by the impure lusts of the world but earnestly avoid them, will behold God with joy.
