...passing through them, it is clear that in this way it is possible for them to awaken in all atoms of the body the power to receive a certain kind of Schwingungen vibrations, so that all Astralsinne astral senses are equally active in all parts of the body.

Vision on the Mentalplane mental plane is, in turn, quite different. Here one can no longer speak of special senses such as sight and hearing; instead, one deals with a Allgemeinsinn general sense that reacts so perfectly to the vibrations reaching it that, when any object enters its consciousness, it immediately recognizes it completely. It sees, hears, and feels it, so to speak, and through this one instantaneous effect, knows everything about it that can be known. But even this wonderful faculty differs only in degree and kind from those we now have at our command. On the mental plane, just as on the physical, impressions are still mediated by vibrations leading from the seen object to the seer.

On the buddhischen Plane Buddhic plane The plane of divine intuition and spiritual unity in Theosophical cosmology., one encounters for the first time a completely new faculty which has nothing in common with those discussed so far. There, a person recognizes any object in a completely different way, in which external vibrations play no role. The object becomes a part of himself, and he views it from within instead of from without. However, ordinary Hellsehen clairvoyance has nothing to do with this power.

Either the complete or partial development of any of these faculties would fall under our definition of clairvoyance: the power to see that which is hidden from ordinary physical sight. But these faculties can be developed in various ways, and it will be good to say a few words about this.
