...as this power manifests itself. Yet the connection of the astral particles to one another is much looser than their connection with the corresponding particles of physical matter.
In an iron bar, for example, one has a quantity of physical Moleküle molecules in a solid state. This means they are capable of only a relatively small change in their relative position to one another, although each of them vibrates with incredible speed in its own sphere. The astral counterpart consists of so-called solid Astralstoff astral matter, which means matter of the lowest and most solid subdivision of the Astralplan astral plane. Nevertheless, its particles change their relative position quickly and constantly. They move among themselves as easily as those of a liquid on the physical plane. Thus, no permanent connection exists between any physical particle and the relevant part of the astral matter that acts as its counterpart at any given moment.
This is also the case regarding the Astralkörper astral body of man. For our purpose, we can consider it as consisting of two parts: the denser collection that occupies the exact position of the physical body, and the cloud of finer astral matter that surrounds it. Within these parts and among each other, a rapid circulation of the described particles takes place continuously. When observing the moving molecules of the astral body, one must involuntarily think of their movement in vigorously boiling water.
It follows that although any specific organ of the physical body must always have a certain amount of astral matter as a counterpart, it does not keep the same particles for longer than a few seconds at a time. Therefore, nothing exists that corresponds to the specialized physical nerve mass in the visual or auditory nerves and others. While the physical eye or ear undoubtedly always has its mirror image made of astral matter, this particular particle of astral matter is nevertheless no more and no less capable of responding to the Schwingungen vibrations that produce astral sight or hearing than any other part of the body.
One must not forget that although we must constantly speak of astrales Sehen astral seeing and astrales Hören astral hearing to create understanding, everything we mean by these expressions is only the ability to respond to such vibrations that come to the consciousness of man when he is active in his astral body. These are messages of the same nature as those that his eyes and ears convey to him while he lives in his physical body. But in the entirely changed astral conditions, special organs are not necessary to achieve this result. In every part of the astral body, there is matter capable of vibrating along with them. Consequently, the person functioning in his astral body sees objects behind him, as well as below and above him, just as well without having to turn his head.
There is, however, another point to consider, namely the question of the previously mentioned Lotosblüten lotus flowers or chakrams chakras. Students of Theosophie theosophy know that certain power centers exist in both the astral and etheric bodies of man. These must occasionally be animated in turn by the sacred Schlangen-Feuer serpent fire, also known as Kundalini, as man progresses in development. One cannot call these power centers organs in the ordinary sense of the word, as man does not see or hear through them as he does through the eye and ear in physical life. However, it seems as if the power to use these astral senses depends very much on their animation. Each center, as it develops, gives the astral body the power to respond to a new series of vibrations.
Nevertheless, these centers have no permanent collection of astral matter connected with them. They are simply Rotationen rotations in the matter of the body, turnings through which all particles pass in turn. They are perhaps points where a higher power from higher planes descends onto the astral body. Even this description gives only a faint idea of their appearance. In fact, they are four-dimensional rotations, so that the power that passes through them and is the cause of their existence appears invisible. But since all particles in turn...
