extremely rarely, for this requires almost superhuman qualities regarding high spiritual striving and absolute purity of thought and motive on the part of both the seer and the operator the person who induces a trance in another person.
Such a kind of clairvoyance and an even higher one, belonging to the next plane above it, can rightly be given the name of spiritual sight. Since the heavenly world, for which it opens our eyes, is now and always around us, we shall mention it under the title of Simple Clairvoyance, although it will probably be necessary to return to it when clairvoyance in space is treated, which will happen in the next chapter.
This type of clairvoyance has been defined as the ability to see events or scenes that are spatially distant from the seer and too far for ordinary observation. The examples of this are so numerous and so varied that we shall attempt to provide a somewhat more detailed classification of them. The type of classification itself is of no importance, as long as it is understandable enough to include all our classes. Perhaps it will be good to group them under the major main divisions of intentional and unintentional clairvoyance in space, with an intermediate class as "partially intentional" — a strange title that I will explain later.
As before, we shall begin by describing what is possible for the perfectly trained clairvoyant in this respect, and an attempt will be made to explain under what restrictions and how his power works. After that, we will be able more easily to understand the diverse examples of one-sided and untrained seeing. What is there to be said first about intentional clairvoyance?
From what was said earlier about astral clairvoyance, it is clear that anyone who fully commands this power is able to see effectively everything in this world that he wishes to see. The most secret places lie open to his gaze, and intervening obstacles do not exist for him because of the change in his viewpoint. Thus, if we grant him the power to move in his astral body the vehicle of consciousness used on the astral plane, he can go everywhere without difficulty and see everything within the limits of the planet. In fact, this is also possible for him to a high degree...
