12. And the Lord said to Satan, "Behold, everything he has is in your power; only do not lay a hand upon the man himself." So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord.

4. And Satan answered the Lord and said, "Skin for skin! Yes, everything a man has he will give for his life.

7. So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord and struck Job with painful boils from the sole of his foot to the top of his head.

Verse 11. "This far you shall come, but no further: and here your proud waves shall be stopped."
2. "Shall he who contends with the Almighty instruct Him? Let him who reproves God answer it."
10. And I heard a loud voice saying in Heaven, "Now has come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our GOD, and the power of his CHRIST; for the accuser of our brothers is cast down, who accused them before our God day and night."
11. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; and they did not love their lives even unto death.
12. Therefore rejoice, you Heavens and you who dwell in them. WOE to the inhabitants of the Earth and of the Sea! For the Devil has come down to you having great wrath, because he knows that he has but a short time.
13. And when the Dragon saw that he was cast to the earth, he persecuted the woman who brought forth the male CHILD.
Part of "Warning to the World" This refers to Southcott's 1803 publication, A Warning to the World.
Here I was answered from the Book of Job: that just as Satan argued against Job, so has he argued against all men, and brought the painful boils of affliction upon all mankind. But there stands the symbol of Satan's fall; for I said, there his proud waves shall be stopped. This happens when the woman comes to be tested like the man, which you find in the Revelation of St. John. The answer I gave Job was intended for Satan; for I said, "He who reproves me, let him answer it." Job did not reprove me, nor did his friends; for they simply thought they were pleading for their God. So I was not reproved by man, but by Satan—who, afterward, spoke through Job's wife, and Job reproved the Devil in her. Now, in the woman, I HAVE come to reprove Satan, and here his proud waves shall be stopped. For up until now has been my permission; but further than this is my restraint (which means he was restrained from coming any further than through temptations). For as I told you in the beginning, I now tell you again: your friends have been like Job's friends, because they could not account for the manner of my strange directions to you. They are sometimes silent, and when they have spoken, they have spoken wrongly, because they could not find out the counsel of the Lord, nor the depth of Satan's arts. But now let it be known—
