The answer of the Lord to the powers of darkness

this month, August 1802, who quoted them in his sermon. The text he began with was from the 18th chapter of St. Matthew:

Verse 20. "For where two or three are gathered together in My Name, there am I in the midst of them."

In his sermon, he quoted part of the third chapter of Malachi, verses 16 and 17:

16. "Then those who feared the LORD spoke often to one another: and the Lord listened and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for those who feared the LORD and who thought upon His Name."

17. "And they shall be mine," says the Lord of hosts, "in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them as a man spares his own son who serves him."

The eighth chapter of Revelation, verses 3 and 4:

3. "And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and much incense was given to him, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne."

4. "And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand."

These texts of Scripture that he quoted were deeply explained to me as referring to the last days, though he did not apply them in such a manner. And I was answered in the following words:

I see My shepherds are blind guides,
They do not discern the days;
The Scriptures that were quoted by him
Show how you ought to warn:
I shall soon clear the Prophets' words,
For they are quickly approaching.

I shall not go through this entire explanation for now, but I shall come to the point when I was answered in the following manner:

Now, Joanna, I will answer you:
Satan's followers will pursue;
But I will make them know your Master,
Like the chapters, all will do. Refers to Malachi 3:16-17, Revelation 8:3-4, and Matthew 18:20.
The one you see standing out for Me
With strong resolution;
I know the prayers of Saints will be
For My Kingdom to come.
For everything here will appear in haste;
My work is all in haste.
I will first clear the Sealed Number, The "Sealed Number" refers to Southcott’s followers who signed a petition for Christ’s kingdom and received a "seal" of protection.
And then my enemies shall taste
The threatenings that will appear,
Which are quickly approaching:
You little think the day is so near
When all these things will come.
I have begun with seven men,
As I began at first;
When I began in seven days,
And formed man from the dust.
A helpmate appeared for him there,
And so it must go on.
But now I will answer Satan here,
And then I will answer man.
Did he begin by condemning? Refer to the book "Dispute between the woman and the Powers of Darkness."
Claiming that I was not your God?
Then I command him to stand by his word
And tremble at His rod.
Did He declare His Spirit there
To be even slightly like yours?
For I command him to appear so,
And own My divine power:
Let him seek My favors, weeping in tears,
As you have always done;
The practice of his hellish arts,
Like you, I command him to shun.
If he can prove it is so, then he may go
Wherever his mind may lead;
If he will hate sin as you have done,
And repent of all he has said,
And bring a mind like yours—to find
A hatred for the ways of sin—
If he confesses me as God and fears My Rod,
He will find My MERCY IS GREAT!
So now let Satan be like you,
And he shall never fall.
