And like the King, when seated on his throne,
Who judged himself a God and became less!
So you can gain no honor by the Heavens,
For there you discovered all your shame;
And there you proved yourself much worse than man,
Because you made the Heavens unclean.
And by your Golden Orb, you swelled so high
And filled the angels with your majesty;
Or with your worthless pride, you swelled them up,
And thought that everyone must stoop to your greatness.
THEN I CREATED MAN out of the dust,
X
To show the greatest things that then must burst:
To be companions in your vacant seat,
And now I have shown you that the Dust is great.
Because all beauties come from the dust;
But know, proud Lucifer, in you there is none.
So now your Golden Orbs may shine in Hell;
The Heavens were never made for you to dwell in,
In pride and envy, and above your God,
But I have shown that MAN is your superior!
As all beauties here spring from the dust,
And MAN is the HEAD OF ALL the Dust;
And the Head of the Dust shall now appear
To share MY KINGDOM AND MY HONOR;
When I have now made all this Earth anew—
The barren Minds and barren Mountains too.
I shall now turn them into a fruitful field,
And every beast shall humbly yield to Man;
Because I mean to try the Dust now,
To see what fruit they will bring when SATAN is not nearby.
But know, O Satan, though I speak from God,
You have not heard the thundering of His Voice;
No, all your Words must come before His Throne!
And all His answers will then be known:
It is but your folly here that I reprove;
You have now moved the Anger of the Lord
With indignation at what you have said;
For every page is now laid before HIM;
And you will shortly find your bill to come,
And mark the fifty-sixth page, what is seen;
You say, "God appeared to be a liar then":
But Man is dead, and now I will prove it clearly—
Had he been living always in HIS GOD,
Then he would have stood like the heavenly angels
In full perfection, to shine with them all!
And they must all know the VINE from the Dust;
For like a Vineyard they must all appear—
Is Christ the Vine? Then they are the branches here.
As everything is nourished by the Dust,
So Man’s Likeness is placed in all things;
And they would all enjoy this in God’s Likeness,
But Death was passed to destroy this Likeness!
For man became instantly Dead to this Knowledge;
His sense and feeling of these Joys were fled.
And you surely lead them on like a corpse,
Until they come to the Grave in sorrow.
But when I renew the Life again,
And free men from that death and from that pain;
Then a NEW WORLD will surely burst upon them,
As men find when risen from the Dust!
And then they will all confess that they were dead
To every Knowledge that was laid before them.
They have surely been Dead to Perfection,
Dead to the Happiness I made for them;
Dead to the Knowledge they had of their GOD,
Dead to the Footsteps they themselves have trod:
Dead to their Sorrows, though they feel them,
And yet they are Dead, so now My Friends, stand still.
When I begin to bring you all to Life,
And come to conquer Death and end the Strife!
And make the Glory of My Kingdom burst,
And bring a perfect Paradise at last!
With Love and Harmony in every sound;
And every barren Mountain shall be found
To drop down Fatness on the Sons of Men,
Enrich your Borders, and bring to a Plain
The rugged Rocks and Mountains that are here—
They shall all appear as a Plain for Man;
Because I will make a Paradise below,
And I know I have Thousands living now;
That when these Changes appear to them,
They will say, "We were all Dead—we now see clearly:
Though we were living, we appeared only like Trees
That had no Knowledge of the Fruit they bore,
Nor of the HUSBANDMAN God or Christ as the celestial gardener. who planted them there."
For Man has no more Knowledge of ME
Than your blind Friends now have of you;
And by their Blindness, they do not know you;
I ask, what living man could judge you so?
To think that you would first go on for Ten Years,
Until all your Substance was spent and gone;
And then to run all risks for My sake,
And you undertook Poverty for ME;
Because your Labor lies Dead beside you—
You work for ME, but do not earn your Bread.
Then how can men be so void of Reason?
Were they not Dead, they would begin to see.
