You cannot say the thing ever came from Me;
It was your own heart that first enticed you
To pride, malice, and every evil;
And you filled the Heavens with rebellion.
You cannot so foolishly charge your God;
But now I will make you tremble at My rod.
And you shall surely find that you are undone,
And I shall now address your very words.*
And ask: what evil spirit loved you,
That you agreed so much with Satan?
By every art that you have spoken to her,
I will now make you tremble at the stroke;
For you have carried your jesting too far,
And I will make all your power apparent.
And all your arts are now made known to man,
And all your hellish lies are shown before them;
You went backward and forward in lies,
And now I will make you tremble at the blow.
Unless you now humbly submit to Me,
Confess your guilt, and now repent of it;
And unless you throw aside all your witchcraft
That is applied here through your hellish arts:
For as you have spoken into the woman's ear,†
I know you appear daily in man
With every subtle art to lead them astray;
As your subtle arts lie in this page,
And you tempt them daily to leave their God,
Showing many full ways before them—
How they may all shine in earthly grandeur.
And so you come and rob the souls that are Mine,
Which I created from the dust at first.
And I say you are cast out by your very words,
Unless you will promise to renounce them all
And instantly call for a new life.
For as you say you are only Satan's Friend,
Sent to vindicate your master,
I bid you go with your master.
Are you his friend? Then know his friendship now,
For as you have threatened, you shall feel the blow:
"Unless you instantly turn another way
"And act as you said to her you would.
"Confess to yourself that all you have done is wrong;
"Renounce your master and break every bond
"That you have made in union with your friend;
"Confess that you have been betrayed by SATAN:

"And that you despise all his ways,
"You see your folly, and you have grown wiser;
"And now persuade all your friends to do the same,
"And say you blame your own guilt and folly

"I have shown you mercy, and I have shown it for a long time!"
But now, I tell you, I will show it no more;
I tell you that your shipwreck is near the shore.
For here your foaming tossed mountain-high;
You certainly lay close to the woman.
And now, I tell you, I will lie close to you;
Look back at Pharaoh! See your ruin there,
And you shall be condemned by your own mouth.
You say, "Be still and know that I am God."
Then you should have stopped and never pursued anyone
When I sealed my chosen vessels
And revealed My Mind to the woman,
Saying that whoever wanted to should come with her.
I have seen the afflictions of My people for a long time;
The burden is made heavier and heavier—
The tally of bricks remains, but the straw is now denied. A reference to Exodus 5, where Pharaoh increased the Israelites' labor by forcing them to gather their own straw while maintaining the same brick quota.
Therefore, I will surely free them of their burden now;
The blood shall now be upon the doorposts
Of every house upon which I place My Seal,

You will find a Moses, and you will find a Friend.
As Miriam appeared with Moses then,
You will find a Moses and a Miriam here.
For I am the Moses, as every soul shall see,
And here is the Miriam who testifies of Me.
And now the Promised Land lies before you;
It was only shadows that Moses commanded
Because the stronger* Pharaoh was there.
