And now the words of Daniel appear:
Your very destiny is written there!
Because, like Belshazzar, you shall fall,
And have no power over this kingdom at all.
But how could I destroy him as a man,
If it had not stood as a type A symbolic foreshadowing. for days to come?
To take the kingdom completely from you,
So that it might agree perfectly with My Bible.
But know that the king approved of My Prophet,
Who arrayed him to show his love;
Then now I will surely show MY LOVE to men,
And they are the third person in My Kingdom.
But as that Man shall be the Ruler here,
I must surely appear before him—
That is, IN POWER, to chain the Serpent down;
I and My Angels then must first be found:
I and My Angels to destroy the foe,
And then you will all know the third Ruler!
The LORD will give his Kingdom to men,
And the third Rulers then will be within them.
But now the other Rulers appear
That are your foes, and now you will see it clearly:
That is, to throw a Daniel in the den,
And that is the way your foes will all be slain.
And then you will see Darius's JUST DECREES;
Throughout the world, they will be ESTABLISHED!
The Kingdom of the LORD will stand forever,
And HIS Dominion will be in every land!
Which all the arts of Satan cannot destroy,
And then everyone shall enjoy My Dominion;
For so it shall be established in the end,
And like Darius, now I will be Man’s Friend.
But further on with Satan I will go now;
He shall now know the fifty-seventh page,
But I will go backward and turn back the blow.
And I bid mankind to TRUST in MY WORD,
But as for Satan, he may well jest there;
Because My threatenings have all been long
That My fierce Anger should come upon him.
And as I lay My judgment on him,
The fool may laugh and think they will all die!
But now look back, O Satan, and appear!
You confess yourself to be a Murderer here;
You thought to kill both the Man and Woman,
And to chill their hearts with your hellish Host,
And to destroy My Creation instantly!
x
And yet you say "that God should enjoy you,
A fit Companion for his heavenly seat,"
Because you say your Golden Orb was great!
Then now let your Golden Orb appear,
And do you compare your gold with the Dust?
And see what fruit your Golden Orb will bring;
Can food or clothing spring from your Orb now?
Can any beauty appear in your gold
Without the Dust, you vain fool? I tell you here:
That all the beauties of your gold must die,
And so the dust is much more valuable than you.
Beauteous flowers spring from the dust,
The lofty cedars all come from them;
And every grain of wheat grows from dust,
And every root is nourished so below;
So now survey and see the native dust!
And see what beauties now burst from it!
Survey the stately palaces, how they stand;
It was from the dust their buildings were commanded.
Survey the gardens, how they all spring up,
The beauteous flowers that appear in them!
The shrubs and trees that make the walks appear
Are nourished here by the dust, you vain fool.
The finest flowers come from the dust,
And every grain springs from the dust,
And from the dust all the fruit appears,
And from the dust men’s lives are preserved!
And from the dust all beauties flow;
Can your Golden Orb show such beauties?
Not a grain of wheat can grow on it,
Not a tree can take its root there;
And if you build a house with all your care,
To have it standing, built all with gold,
Then see your structure—how long will it hold?
When thieves plunder and pull the house down,
And lay your stately structure to the ground;
Then see your grandeur! How your house stands
To tempt mankind to plunder by your hand.
But if food should be wanted there,
I ask if gold will bear one single grain?
I ask what life mankind could draw from it?
Or if anything could flow from your Golden Orb
To give comfort to the Sons of Men?
Without the dust, your gold is all in vain;
So you, vain fool, see your ignorant pride now:
The dust is much superior now to you;
And so man is superior now in the same way,
And all may judge it by the different name.
But as you boast that you were in Heaven,
And say your grandeur was given there;
Then your last state is now worse than the first,
x
Because your pride and malice burst there.
