The answer of the Lord to the powers of darkness

That YOU could have no ends in this at all,
Unless you judge every Call to be from Heaven!
So I will prove that Man is totally Dead
To every Knowledge that is laid before him:
And Satan shall find the Words are True;
When I bring Man to Life, the Fool shall know
That he, like Man, is then pronounced Dead,
And every Knowledge then is fled from him:
And then he will see the Truth appear:
His Head is bruised by the Woman here;
And Man is freed!—and he receives his Curse
Above all living, as the Fool must confess;
And then he will grieve to see that GOD IS TRUE,
"And He has now cast my Doom on my Head,"
Or else in agony he may blaspheme,
And curse his God, and gnaw his Tongue for pain; original: See Revelation, chap. 16.
That he is conquered by the Sons of Men;
To see the fatal Die is cast for him,
The Woman has conquered, and his Doom must burst;
Because the Stone is cast upon his Head,
For here the stronger Tower was laid; original: See Judges, chap. 9. Referring to the story of Abimelech, whose head was crushed by a millstone dropped by a woman from a tower.
The Faith of others he soon burned down.
He cut the Branches and confounded their Faith:
And he appeared at this fenced House,
But know, the Woman cast the Millstone here:
Which I said was broken at that time,

For it then appeared near together,
And now I give this Answer to Satan here.
He will surely be guarded by Soldiers now,
And share his dying Fate as well as ME:
For I shall make him Dead to all Knowledge,
And now I go Backward, so I lead the Fool; original: Alluding to the Fall. Referring to the reversal of the original Fall of Man.
And appear to the fifty-fourth page;
Suppose your Strength should now deceive you here,
And you begin to find that GOD IS TRUE?
And that He will now do all things according to His Word,
Will you not tremble at the Wrath of God?
Begin to Fear! and tremble at his Rod!
For now Remember, you have been deceived
In all your words to her, in what you believed;
That you could Conquer, and should make her Fall;
You threatened her Death—see your Lies in everything!
For she now stands as a living Witness
Against your Lies, that you may command the Dust,

To creep on it, as she appears
To be no corpse; so now you must take care;
Because I will show no Mercy to you,
If you go on to tempt My Chosen so.

You have mocked your God, and you condemn the Son!
And now you appear to Murder both;
For you murdered the old Sheep Adam or the early patriarchs. long before;
And now, I say, you have come to the EWE LAMB, Joanna Southcott or the female principle of the Church.
And here your every plan was for Murder!
By every threat you have made to her,
And here you are cast; the Stone is on your Head;
Because the Woman was the Corner Stone,
In which I said Man’s Happiness should come,
And as she should appear as his Helpmate,
Then surely the Corner Stone must be here;
And you know it fell upon your head.
I said whichever stood out should Conquer all;
And know, O Satan, that she did stand out,
And she surely doubted your Power—
That it was not as great as you boasted:
And her Trust was then entirely in her SAVIOUR.
She stood out for Me more than a Hero,
And every Soul shall see she is more than Woman;
With Faith and Courage, she surely stood out,
SHE DID NOT DOUBT THE POWER OF HER GOD;
And she did not fear HIS FAITHFULNESS,
And as her Faith is, she shall now Conquer here:
Because she stands so strong in Faith,
Even when you came so close upon her.
Now the Corner Stone has fallen on your head,
For her last Words must be made known to all;
Her hatred toward you was very great,
And so I told you that the End would break;
But then, she told you that her GOD WAS GOOD,
And it must be understood that you were EVIL;
For she sought to gain His Protection,
And now, O Satan, she has not sought in vain;
For she said she refused Misery,
But you say you did not choose Happiness;
For your last words, O Satan, must appear:
You despised God’s Protection there;
Just as much as she despised your favors,
Here the Seven Days End—let all be wise.
She told you that her Hatred appeared great
Against such a wretched Being as you were;
But then she told you that her GOD WAS GOOD,
And that you were EVIL, it must be understood.
