The fifth book of wonders

Deists and Atheists of the truth of the Scriptures—to believe in my Gospel and its fulfillment—than they would believe in my visitation to you. But now I ask: How can it be believed while my Gospel is denied and rejected by the teachers and pastors themselves?

"And now I shall address his observation about Muhammad original: "Mahomet". He says, 'that arch-impostor pretended to see visions and to hold intercourse with angelic beings, and thus miserably deluded half the Christian world; whom God delivered up to their own vain imaginations, "that they should believe a lie"; and thus unstable souls will perish in all ages, unless the mercy of God prevents it.'

"I shall answer his folly: For men like Muhammad have been impostors in all ages of the world; various schemes have arisen among mankind. And people treat ME like Muhammad, whom he called a vile impostor, because of the way my Gospel is now viewed by the Jews and by thousands and tens of thousands in this nation—as is known by the books that are published. So now I ask a man like him: How is this evil to be prevented by any mercy of the Lord without my proving the Gospel is true? I must prove it by the way I laid the foundation at first, to raise it up in the end; as I said at first, I would complete it at the last and bring about the redemption of man. There is no other way to prevent these vile impostors from arising in every age and every place. But know this: I died to destroy the works of the devil; yet, while his power remains, these impostors will always remain.
