[Petersen, Johann Wilhelm] · [ca 1710]

1. Do you believe in a restoration of all things Wiederbringung aller Dinge?
Yes, I believe in one. For the Apostle Peter Apostel Petrus speaks this way: Christ must occupy heaven until the times of the restoration of all things, of which God has spoken through the mouth of all his holy prophets. Acts 3:21.
2. Where then have the prophets spoken of it?
Isaiah Esaias testifies of this with clear words that God himself speaks: Behold! I will create a new heaven and a new earth, so that the former will no longer be remembered nor taken to heart. And again: The new heaven and the new earth that I make stand before me. Isaiah 65:17; Chapter 66:22.
3. Did the apostles and believers also believe what the prophets testified about this?
Certainly. For Peter says in his own name and in the name of all believers: We look for a new heaven and a new earth, according to his promise Verheissung, in which righteousness dwells. 2 Peter 3:13.
4. How do you prove that Peter and the believers did not wait for something uncertain?
From the fact that their waiting was grounded in the promise of God. All promises
catchword: of God
