Rasaratnākara (Rasāyanakhaṇḍa)

Then, adding ṭaṅkaṇa borax and kāca glass, one should seal the mixture and heat it strongly. One should consume one guñjā a small seed-weight with honey. This is the great essence known as karvīra oleander preparation. (62) Within one year, it destroys old age; one lives as long as the moon and stars endure. One should drink one karṣa a weight measure of muśalī Curculigo orchioides root powder with the juice of guñjā leaves. (63) Alternatively, one may use goat urine. This is the supreme potion for sexual vitality.

Kāñcāyana Rasa The Gold-Like Mercury

One should take calcined mercury and equal parts sulfur, triturating it for one day with the juices of kākamācī Solanum nigrum. (64) After sealing it, one should cook it over a karīpāgni fire of dried cow dung for a day and a night. One should then triturate it for a day with the juices of leaves from divine medicinal plants. (65) After heating it, one should remove it and add an equal portion of calcined gold. Combining these with ghee, one should lick the mixture for one and a half years. (66) It quickly destroys old age and death; this is truly the kāñcāyana essence. One should macerate the powder derived from dhātrīphala emblic myrobalan in kākamācī juice. (67) If one consumes one karṣa of this with honey, it provides supreme sexual vitality.

Parānanda Rasa The Supreme-Bliss Mercury

One should take calcined mercury, mica, and sulfur in equal parts for six days. (68) Triturating it with the juices of śigrumūla drumstick root, one should place this iron-containing mixture inside a vessel. (69) Sealing it, one should cook it lightly over a fire of vegetable wood for one day. One should always lick this essence, named parānanda, with ghee. (70) For one day, one should properly cook kuṣṭha Saussurea lappa in a decoction of triphalā three myrobalans. (71) After drying and powdering it, one should consume one karṣa with honey and ghee as an after-drink. Through one year of use, one lives as long as the moon and stars.

Mahākāla Rasa The Great-Time Mercury

One should take calcined mercury, mica, and equal parts calcined iron. To this iron portion, one should add purified sulfur and macerate it for seven days. (72) One should then process this mixture seven times each, in sequence, with the decoction of triphalā and the juices of bhṛṅga Eclipta prostrata, śigru drumstick, and citraka Plumbago zeylanica. (73) It should then be processed seven times with a decoction of kaṭukī Picrorhiza kurroa and powdered once more.

Adding an equal amount of kaṇā long pepper powder and old jaggery in equal measures, (74) one should consume one niṣka a weight measure of this mixture for one year. This is the mahākāla essence, which strikes fear into the time of aging. (75) One should consume leaves of tila sesame and koraṇṭa Barleria prionitis with jaggery afterward.

Hemaparpaṭa Rasa The Gold-Leaf Mercury

One should take calcined mercury and an equal part of iron parpaṭa a flattened preparation. (76) Adding sulfur, three times the weight of the mercury, one should triturate all of this with the juices of divine medicinal plants for one day. After sealing and heating it, the mercury becomes bound. (77) To this, one should add one-fourth part of calcined gold, triturating it for three hours one yāma with the juices of vahnī Plumbago zeylanica, and then powder it along with vyoṣa dried ginger, black pepper, and long pepper, jīraka cumin, and saindhava rock salt. (78) One should consume one niṣka of this essence. This hemaparpaṭa essence quickly destroys old age and death. (79) One should macerate aśvagandhā Withania somnifera and yaṣṭī licorice in dhātrīphala juice for one day, and consume one pala a weight measure of this with honey for supreme vitality. (80)

Śrīkaṇṭha Rasa The Auspicious-Throat Mercury

One should take equal parts of gold, silver, kānta a type of iron, or calcined ṭaṅkaṇa borax. Add black mica-essence and mākṣika copper pyrite, each equal in weight to the gold. (81) All of this should be sealed, heated, and made into a pellet, then combined with calcined mercury. One should add one-fourth part of calcined diamond to the mercury. (82) One should triturate the entire mixture in a mortar with the juice of jambīra lemon for one day. Then, one should seal it and process it for one day in a bhūdhara-puṭa an earthen pit furnace. (83) Removing it, one should add an equal part of sulfur, seal it again, and heat it strongly. One should always lick this powder, measuring one māṣa a small weight measure, with honey and ghee. (84) This essence, known as śrīkaṇṭha, bestows the ability to move through the skies. By using it for one year, one lives until the end of the world-cycle. (85) Through the urine and feces of one who consumes this, all base metals turn into gold. One should also consume one pala of sulfur with milk for supreme vitality. (86)

Khecara Rasa The Sky-Moving Mercury

One should take one part of purified copper and twelve parts of purified mercury.
