Rasaratnākara (Alchemy Section)

Through such divine rasāyana alchemical rejuvenating treatments that are appropriate, quintessentially potent, and auspicious, I have witnessed the achievement of a perfected body through the strength of various methods. Worship these referring to the presiding deities or the techniques themselves and, having gathered the entire essence from the scriptures, apply it for the benefit of kings, the learned, and the high-minded. (140)

This concludes the second chapter, titled "The Achievement of a Divine Body," in the Fourth Alchemical Section of the Rasaratnākara, composed by Nityānātha Siddha, son of Pārvatī.

The Third Chapter

The divine yogaguṭikā alchemical pill rasāyana rejuvenating treatment does not succeed without the krāmaṇa alchemical assimilation method. One should employ the method that yields swift success; the anupāna vehicle/adjuvant for this assimilation is explained here. (1)

The Mṛtasañjīvanī Guṭikā Pill for Reviving the Dead

Take kākatumbī Momordica charantia, kākamācī Solanum nigrum, nirguṇḍī Vitex negundo, and kumārikā Aloe vera. Add equal parts of gojihvā Elephantopus scaber, saindhava rock salt, guñjā Abrus precatorius, and ārdrāka fresh ginger. (2) Grind these to make a paste and coat a crucible with it, one finger-thick. Take pārada mercury, vyomasattva essence of mica, kānta lodestone, tīkṣṇa steel, muṇḍaka pig iron, (3) and the essence of tāpya copper pyrite, in equal parts. Grind the entire mixture for a day with the juice of jambīra lemon and place it in the crucible. (4) Seal it with the paste, dry it, and bake it in a pit of burning cow dung (karīṣāgni) for a day and night. Extract it thereafter. (5) Again, smear the crucible, seal it, and bake it as before. Repeat this process ten times, coating the crucible each time. (6) A divine pill, the supreme Mṛtasañjīvanī, is produced. When worn in the mouth, on the head, at the throat, in the ear, or held in the hand, (7) and well-wrapped in gold, it is the supreme stabilizer of the life-force. It destroys all anxiety regarding wrinkles, gray hair, and death. (8) Without doubt, one lives for three hundred years by consuming just one pala approx. 48 grams of pure sulfur with cow's milk. (9)
