Heat it in a sealed crucible to produce a wonderful pill. (180) Named the Pañcānanā, it should be kept in the mouth for one year. Freed from gray hair and wrinkles, one lives as long as the moon, sun, and stars. (181) Grind the roots of hastikarṇī Leea macrophylla with honey and clarified butter. (182) Seal it in a greased vessel and bury it in a heap of grain. Extract it after twenty-one days and consume one pala approx. 48 grams.
Regarding the various methods of binding mercury mentioned in the Ṛddhikhaṇḍa Section on Success, I will now describe the method of body-transmutation. (183) Using various mercury-dusts, bound and purified individually, make a divine pill the size of a jujube fruit. (184) This should be kept in the mouth to grant results according to one's desires. The hundred-fold purifying pill grants a long life to men. (185) The thousand-fold pill preserves one for eight kalpas cosmic cycles. That which purifies a hundred thousand times grants the status of being beloved by Vishnu. (186) That which purifies ten hundred thousand times grants the status of Rudra. The ten-million-fold purifier grants the status of a god. (187) The hundred-million-fold pill grants the status of the Eternal. The billion-fold pill grants the status of Śrīkaṇṭha. (188) The conch-fold pill grants the status of the universe. The smoke-fold pill grants the status of power. (189) The supreme power is granted by the touch-fold pill. One who keeps the sound-fold pill in their mouth for a year becomes a siddha perfected being and attains the eternal state daily. (190) He becomes free-roaming with a body like a diamond, and a diamond vessel is broken. (191) Through his urine and feces, all base metals turn into gold; this happens even by the contact of his sweat or a nighttime touch. (192) For all the mentioned practices, use purified sulfur.
Consume half a pala daily; it is beneficial for the transmutation of mercury. (193) "O Kāli, Kāli, Great Kāli, consumer of flesh and blood, O Goddess with a red and black face, grant me the perfection of mercury!" (194) Hail! By this perfected mantra, worship the cycle of power. Worship Kālika, Bhairava, the maiden, and the perfected mercury. (195) Then consume the divine alchemy to attain perfection. Keep the pill in the mouth and always recite the previous mantra. (196) Through the use of this mercury mantra, one quickly attains perfection.
Regarding the gradual perfection mentioned in the Manthana Bhairava a tantric text: (197) For this purpose, perfect the five elements and the sixth, the soul. At the time of the flow of kākinī a female energy/spirit, engage in union and gather the essence. (198) That seed-fluid in the yoni is known by the wise as the sky. The union with the son born of the kākinī is called the path of life. (199) The fire is the flower of the kākinī, the water is the son's blood. The entire body of the son of the kākinī is called the earth element. (200) The potency arising from the body of the mercury-practitioner is called the soul. Having combined one karṣa of each with mercury, the wise should preserve it, well-ground and formed into a ball. (201) Make it as tall as a man and half as wide in a copper cauldron, about six fingers thick. (202) It must be held firmly on the back of a four-mouthed furnace. (203) Mix equal parts of cow ghee and human oil. Fill the cauldron with it and worship the perfected cycle. (204) Propitiate the maiden, the teacher, the gods, the fire, Bhairava, and the followers of Bhairava. Offer sacrifices and worship the guardian of the field. (205) Perform the blowing fanning of the fire in the four directions slowly with four sparks from charcoal of khadira Acacia catechu. (206)
