The wise practitioner should then dry this and grind it into a fine powder. It should be consumed with betel leaf, combined with the four spices cāturjāta A mixture of cinnamon, cardamom, patra leaf, and nagakesara.. (413)
By consuming this three times seven times Twenty-one times., one becomes free from all diseases. Through the practice of this for six months, one develops a body as strong as a diamond. (414)
I shall describe an alchemical elixir (rasāyana) that is rare even among the gods. The plant known as Uchchata is found on the surface of the earth. (415)
Its form is described by four characteristics. It has a single stalk and, in color, resembles a bamboo shoot. (416)
Its flower is red, with a brilliance resembling the beak of a parrot. Its root resembles a tortoise; such are its signs. (417)
Upon climbing above the plant, one can see the ten directions. One perceives divine forms; such is the appearance of this plant. (418)
It continuously exudes a sweet-tasting essence. When applied to the heart, this essence can penetrate all metals. (419)
It transforms metals into divine gold rapidly when heated by fire. If a person applies it to the tips of their fingers, [they experience a transformation]. (420)
Their skin sheds completely, and new hair grows everywhere. Once the entire body is renewed, even an old man regains the form of a youth. (421)
He becomes like Pradyumna The son of Krishna, known for his immense beauty and strength. in the world, with the strength of ten thousand snakes. He becomes a wise scholar of all sciences, free from wrinkles and gray hair. (422)
He will be long-lived like Mārkaṇḍeya A sage in Hindu mythology known for his extreme longevity. and will truly be fortunate. (422)
Alternatively, take the leaves, flowers, fruit, and roots, grind them into a fine powder, and add them to the mixture. (423)
Steep it twenty-one times in cow urine. When subjected to intense heat, it becomes beautiful gold. (424)
When applied to copper and silver, it will transmute them—there is no doubt. The resulting gold is divine and free from the three defects. (425)
Now, I shall carefully describe the places where this medicinal plant grows: on the lovely Mount Sumeru, at beautiful sacred confluences of rivers, (426)
On the auspicious and lovely Himalayas, on the Jalandhara mountain, and in the blessed and beautiful Siddhi-Vindhya region. (427)
On the Chandrakanta mountain and in the region of Hemaprastha, known for good vows; the herb worshipped by the gods is famous in these places. (428)
O Pārvatī, this herb is known as Vijayā in all three worlds. Being worshipped by the gods, it grants longevity to the supreme practitioner. (429)
After preparing mercury by refining its brilliance, or having prepared gold, add the essence of Uchchata and grind the mercury mixture. (430)
