Mica-essence, heated in a crucible with the juice of Vajravallī a type of climber plant and table salt, becomes beautiful. (98)
The mixing of equal parts of mica-liquefaction and mercury is considered valid. Through this, it attains a state of binding; this is called external liquefaction. (99)
The work of external liquefaction succeeds through devotion to Shiva. Always through the grace of the Guru and the worship of the Great Bhairava. (100)
By the worship of Shiva and his consort, external liquefaction is achieved.
Now I shall speak of the consumption process in detail. (101)
Having made mica and pyrite-essence equal, one should heat them. All that remains of the mica should be consumed into the mercury. (102)
Through these two "putrid" likely referring to lead and tin, known as the two decaying metals substances, one should accomplish the solid-essence. According to the metal-worker's method, this does not break the metal. (103)
Lead and tin are very powerful; they are constantly applied to fabric. The accomplished solid-essence is like grated powder. (104)
One valla a weight measure of this should be thrown into the hunger-stricken mercury. Four parts of mercury-sulfur are thus declared. (105)
Acid in a copper vessel, mixed with rock salt. (106)
Or mixed with milk, ground for three days. It becomes blue like vitriol; that is called kalka paste by the wise. One should grind mercury with this paste. (107)
For three days in a copper mortar, then washed with fermented gruel. Place it in a glass vessel, and put Biḍa above and below. (108)
With an eighth part of mercury, make a sealed crucible. Block the opening with birch leaves and wrap it with thread. (109)
Wrap the crucible with cloth and then steam it in a swing-apparatus. With cow urine, acidic substances, and fermented gruel, day by day. (110)
In a stone vessel, or an iron vessel, or a glass one, wash the mercury with hot fermented gruel water. (111)
Place it in a strong four-fold cloth; if all the mercury falls through when pressed from below into another vessel— (112)
Then the mica is properly consumed. One should do this again. The excellent mica-seed should be given again in the measured portion. (113)
One should consume everything with eight portions according to the teacher's path. When done thus, the mica is surely consumed in the mercury. (114)
The consumption done by my own hand, performed properly, I have not heard of. When mica is properly consumed, the mercury becomes a "staff-bearer" meaning it is heavy and potent. (115)
Even the "child" a stage of potency is said to be somewhat effective.
