Two-fold and three-fold consumption is what I speak of here. (116)
When four-fold mica is consumed, I call it an "adolescent." When five-fold mica is consumed, the excellent mercury is a "youth." (117)
When six-fold mica is consumed, the excellent mercury is an "elder." When seven or eight-fold mica-essence is consumed, it is "very aged." (118)
This is the granter of all successes; the mercury is itself the Supreme Mercury. In this same way, one should consume all metals. (119)
Now I shall speak of the coloring of mercury. (120)
Colored and transited passed through stages, it is the god Maheśvara himself. (121)
Coloring is done with metal-pyrites and Rasaka zinc ore. It should be done with the red-group substances according to the scriptural path. (122)
Coloring of mercury should be done with sulfur-color. With copper, red glass, and red rock salt. (123)
One should color the mercury inside a blind-crucible a sealed, airtight crucible with copper and similar materials. One should color it with the combination of three bricks and sulfur-color. (124)
By the color of Rasaka and the use of a balance-apparatus. By grinding with sharp powder, one should always color the mercury. (125)
Place the mercury, made into a copper-paste, for seven days. The coloring of the King of Mercury happens; there is no doubt. (126)
An earthen crucible should be made, coated with red color. Placing the mercury inside and heating it results in coloring. (127)
I have spoken briefly of the coloring of mercury.
Coloring has been demonstrated in many ways according to the scriptural path. (127)
Now I shall speak of the cause of the increase of projection the ability of the mercury to transmute base metals. (128)
Transference is the great success-giver of all works. (129)
The crucible should be shaped like a Dhurta Datura flower, eight inches long. The mouth should be made wide, measuring four inches. (130)
It is made of clay and dried, smoothed extremely well inside. Another lid-crucible, well-fitting, with a hole. (131)
Place the purified, well-consumed mercury inside the crucible. Fish, tortoise, frog, leech, ram, and pig— (132)
Collect the fat of these; such oil is for transference. Earth-worm, honey, crow-feces— (133)
Likewise, the insects and the wax from a buffalo's ear. One should prescribe the paste of these, sixteenth part of the mercury. (134)
Filter it through a cloth and apply it in the oil. Cook well in the oil prepared for transference. (135)
Place the seed, mixed with the paste, on top of the crucible. Close the mouth of the crucible with the second lid. (136)
Seal the pair of crucibles with ash and salt. Dig three parts of the crucible into the earth. (137)
Heat it well from above with strong coals and a fierce fire. Thus, the consumed seed falls into the mercury. (138)
The King of Mercury attains binding and becomes endowed with qualities through transference. First consumed and then transferred, it gives all success. (139)
If not consumed or transferred, how can it be a transmuter? Through the teacher's instruction, the excellent work of transference is seen. (140)
I have not heard of it being done properly by hand-experience.
