Expose it to the rays of the sun for three days, having moistened it with the juice of haṃsapadī Adiantum lunulatum, a medicinal fern. Thereafter, place the mixture into a sturdy crucible made of pure iron, and prepare the kajjalikā black sulfide of mercury. (32)
Construct a small stove of appropriate size, place the vessel upon it, and using a clean iron ladle, stir the excellent mercury mixture constantly. (33)

It swallows up groups of wasting diseases likely tuberculosis or consumption and is a supreme booster of virility for men. It destroys wrinkles and greying hair, and is a supreme destroyer of all forms of leprosy. (35)
Construct a crucible from prepared earth and place the mercury mixture, which has been worked with the fingers, into it cleanly. Ensure the excellent mercury is pure and has been ground until it resembles the plumage of a parrot. (36)
Fill it with the base of gold perhaps gold dust or minerals and seal it well with a thin layer of earth. (37)
Thereafter, cook the excellent mercury according to the prescribed method for seven days over a low fire. Always consume one yava barley-grain, a measure of weight of this mercury-ash to overcome the disturbances of all doṣa biological humors. (38)
Take two pala a unit of weight of excellent mercury and an equal portion of beautiful copper. (39)
With the addition of sulfur and fat often clarified butter/ghee, grind the mixture in an iron vessel over a very low fire. (40)
Once the copper and mercury have liquefied, stir the three substances together with a clean iron spoon. Then, pour the mixture onto a plantain leaf resting upon a bed of cow dung. (41)
This becomes the supreme mercury parpaṭī, a destroyer of all diseases. Take it with an equal portion of iron and two units of black pepper to provide constant relief. (42)
It should be administered with an anupāna vehicle or digestive medium of triphalā a formula of three fruits: Haritaki, Bibhitaki, and Amalaki mixed with honey. One should consume the parpaṭī mixed with tryūṣaṇa a mixture of black pepper, long pepper, and dry ginger. (43)
Combined with pañcakola a traditional blend of five digestive spices, it cures sannipāta disorders caused by the imbalance of all three humors. Consumed with honey, it destroys all types of fevers. (44)
Taken with long pepper and honey, it eliminates all swellings. With śyāmā Ipomoea turpethum and trikaṭu the three pungents, it overcomes grahaṇī malabsorption or sprue of vāta wind/air humor origin. (45)
Combined with guggulu Commiphora mukul resin and triphalā, it destroys vātarakta gout. Combined with asafoetida and puṣkara Inula racemosa, it perfectly eliminates vātaśūla wind-related colic or pain. (46)
Combined with vyoṣa the three pungents or the juice of kanyā aloe vera, it destroys diseases of kapha phlegm humor. Combined with a decoction of daśamūla ten roots, it removes fevers of vāta origin. (47)
Administered as a paste of bākucī Psoralea corylifolia seeds, it destroys itching. Combined with āruṣkara marking nut, it destroys sidhma a type of leucoderma/vitiligo. (48)
With cow's urine as the vehicle, it destroys hemorrhoids. One should prepare the finest medicinal powder with equal parts of vanamallī, arjuna, citraka Plumbago zeylanica, and bhṛṅgarāja. (49)
Also include śālmalī, nimba leaves, kalhāra, guḍūcī, and nirguṇḍī in equal proportions. (50)
Grind all of these into a powder and use it as the vehicle for the parpaṭī. It destroys the eighteen types of leprosy without a doubt. (51)
The parpaṭī of the king of metals (mercury) kills diseases depending on the vehicle. One should not consume food that is improper, with due regard to the doṣa humors and dūṣya tissues involved. (52)
Carefully take pure mercury and pure sulfur in equal, separate parts. Grind the mercury with the juice of eraṇḍa castor root and the juice of adrikaṇṇī a medicinal herb. (53)
Grind it with the juice of kākamācī Solanum nigrum, and then with the juice of pomegranate seeds. In this way, the mercury attains purity in four days for certain. (54)
Then, treat the sulfur with the juices of mārkava Eclipta prostrata in an iron vessel. Melt it with the fire of jujube wood and pour it three times into the juice of bhṛṅgarāja. (55)
Thereafter, prepare the kajjali black mercury sulfide, grind it, and melt it in a fine iron vessel. Pour it onto a plantain leaf and cover it afterward with another leaf. (56)
Place cow dung above and below it, and once cooled, treat it with cow's ghee. This parpaṭī destroys all diseases born of impurities and doṣa imbalances. (57)
