Aristotle, writing to Antipater concerning Alexander, said that it is not fitting for him to be proud merely because he rules over many, but rather if he has a correct understanding concerning the gods.
PLUTARCH. Original Greek: "Ο δε Αρισοτελης προς Αντιπατρον περι Αλεξανδρου γραφων, εφη μη μονον εκεινω προσηκειν οτι πολλων κρατει μεγαφρονειν, αλλ' ουδεν ηττον ει τις ορθως γινωσκει περι θεων."
