Since Suchness itself does not exist, how can one say that the Suchness of the Buddha's ten powers is the Bodhisattva Mahasattva? [How can one say] that the Suchness of the four fearlessnesses, the four analytical insights, and the eighteen exclusive qualities of a Buddha is the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, [or that it] is the Suchness of the Buddha's ten powers that is the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, or [that it] is the Suchness of the four fearlessnesses, the four analytical insights, and the eighteen exclusive qualities of a Buddha that is the Bodhisattva Mahasattva? The Suchness of the Buddha's ten powers contains the Bodhisattva Mahasattva. The Suchness of the four fearlessnesses, the four analytical insights, and the eighteen exclusive qualities of a Buddha contains the Bodhisattva Mahasattva. The Bodhisattva Mahasattva contains the Suchness of the Buddha's ten powers. The Bodhisattva Mahasattva contains the Suchness of the four fearlessnesses, the four analytical insights, and the eighteen exclusive qualities of a Buddha. Is the Suchness of the four immeasurables Great Loving-kindness, Great Compassion, Great Joy, and Great Equanimity not the Bodhisattva Mahasattva? The Suchness of the Great Loving-kindness is not the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, and the Suchness of the Great Compassion, Great Joy, and Great Equanimity is not the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, and the Suchness of the Great Loving-kindness is not the Bodhisattva Mahasattva. It is not that the Suchness of the Great Loving-kindness, Great Joy, and Great Equanimity contains the Bodhisattva Mahasattva. It is not that the Suchness of the Great Compassion, Great Joy, and Great Equanimity contains the Bodhisattva Mahasattva. It is not that within the Bodhisattva Mahasattva there is the Suchness of the Great Loving-kindness. It is not that within the Bodhisattva Mahasattva there is the Suchness of the Great Compassion, Great Joy, and Great Equanimity. Apart from the Suchness of the Great Loving-kindness, there is the Bodhisattva Mahasattva; it is not that apart from the Suchness of the Great Compassion, Great Joy, and Great Equanimity, there is the Bodhisattva Mahasattva. The Venerable Subhuti said, "World-Honored One, if the Great Loving-kindness, or the Great Compassion, Great Joy, and Great Equanimity are ultimately ungraspable in nature..." nature?
