The earth is yellow; the wise know the five elements have a single base. Sound, touch, form, taste, and smell are remembered as the qualities of the elements. (22)
The circular vayat space/ether is marked by six points; that of the wind original: "matarishvan" is a triangle containing a swastika; that of fire is conjoined with a half-moon. (23)
The lotus belongs to water; the square, along with the thunderbolt, belongs to the earth. The wise recognize these mandalas geometrical diagrams as resembling the respective elements. (24)
They say these are conjoined with vowels and covered by their own names. The kalas phases/aspects, starting with Nivritti cessation, are remembered as belonging to the five elements starting with the earth. (25)
Nivritti, Pratishtha establishment, Vidya knowledge, Shanti peace, and immediately following, Shantyatita transcendence of peace: these are known to arise from the body of sound original: "nadadehasamudbhava". (26)
This entire universe, both moving and unmoving, is composed of the five elements. The unmoving is divided in many ways, such as mountains and trees. (27)
The moving is said to be threefold: born from moisture, born from an egg, and born from the womb. Those born from moisture are worms, insects, and the like; those born from eggs are snakes and the like. (28)
Those born from the womb are humans and others. Among them, the birth of humans is spoken of as occurring through the union of male and female, from the mixing of semen and blood. (29)
A single vindu point/drop enters the womb, containing both natures sequentially. If there is an excess of menstrual blood, a girl is born; if there is an excess of semen, a boy is born. When both are equal, it is known as a eunuch. (30)
Bound by the net of delusion according to past actions, a certain soul then attains the state of a living being within that. (31)
Then, nourished gradually by the essences derived from food and drink, it grows day by day, then month by month, possessing a material body. (32)
Obtaining pleasure through the faults and the tissues, it manifests through its own senses. The faults are wind, bile, and phlegm; the tissues are known as the seven elements. (33)
They are known as skin, blood, flesh, fat, bone, marrow, and semen.
