Preface
of
What wonders does observation not see here
In the starry sky and in the high air,
In thousandfold inhabitants of the earth,
And in the hosts of the ocean depths!
The high cedar that reaches to the clouds,
The small flower that grows in the meadow,
Both bear witness to the uninvestigated
And the infinite power of the Creator:
Even moist fungi, with manifold
Shape and coloring, speak his great praise;
Tell of the wisdom of the All-Father,
Boast, like those others, of the Mighty One's wonders.
Schäffer.
