The emblem of The New York Botanical Garden features a circular design. A scholar stands on the left and a gardener on the right. They flank a shield divided into four quadrants containing botanical and academic symbols. A palm tree sits above the shield. The surrounding text reads "THE NEW YORK BOTANICAL GARDEN 1891." The motto "PRO SCIENTIA POPULIQUE SALUTE" For the sake of science and the health of the people is inscribed. Two laurel branches frame the entire emblem.
