and most conspicuous species of these, enumerating only those, will follow shortly, so that I may satisfy the wishes of both the buyers and the publisher, who desire the work to be completed. Since, moreover, the Species Hyphomycetum Species of Thread-Fungi and Gymnomycetum Naked-fungi (i.e., Coniomycetum Dust-fungi) already exist, published recently by the celebrated Link with the greatest diligence, a new work repeating the same very specific things within such a short space of time seems superfluous. To render their history as familiar as that of the remaining classes, one or two more lustra a period of five years are required, to which time, if fate allows, a fuller history must be deferred.
