in some great ones will be the cause, after many things, so that goodwill and many services may at times revolve into hatred and heavy enmities and anger. Truly, after many things, when leagues ought to be moved by the great, I wish that providence, being warned, might be able to help us so that we might be able to avoid and avert the bloodshed, ruins, and slaughters which the heavens show for the future time (just as at present they strike up terrors, involutions, and great confusions: in such a way that in this year the terrors, frauds, deaths, rebellions, invasions, and conflicts and contests will be stronger, although some things will be future in a rushed manner): and to avert those slaughters and disasters: since otherwise the common evil must at last be for all: and this, unless God, ruling all, might wish to do something of his mystery unknown to me by his power or hand above the significations of the heavens in these and all things to which his incomprehensible powers extend.
¶ While wars already risen in Italy rage, it will then be to be feared by us, the arrival of warlike foreign nations with force: which will be the cause that by iron, fire, and ruins, a part of Italy will become tearful: which may God in his pity deign to avert: but the league to be attempted: if it pleases: may he permit it to have place beforehand with the safety of Christians and the slaughter of the impious.
¶ We say again that ships and fleets with warlike foreign nations will come to the shores of Italy at the aforementioned time, aiding and then increasing in Italy ruins, wars, and conflicts: Italy itself being already almost divided among opposing nations: whence it is to be considered how great the sadness and labors of Italy will be in those times: when from the aforementioned external nations of the North and West, its evil and wars must at last rage: whence if it is good, may God avert these things: but may he permit that league proposed and persuaded by the great to have place, for which the significations of the heavens after many things are near, but with a termination again into other wars: unless they are slaughtered beforehand, as will be said below.
¶ Many in Italy will be promoted against their prince and those ruling the sea, to hand themselves over to the host and enemy: but the hope of many will be harmful to them for a time: on account of occurrences not believed before: and on account of the storm of things harsh and unexpected for themselves: which will happen to many things: For many will not be able to fulfill their vow and many on account of this will be punished by heavy repentance and will fall to the worse.
¶ A hidden fraud or betrayal on the side of one of those warring will be against a great prince who has hidden enemies: whom he will at last recognize for evil.
