And it will last from the beginning to the end for almost two equal hours. However, the effects of this eclipse pertain more to the following years; therefore, it will be necessary for the astrologer not to forget this eclipse in the judgments of the following years, as its influence will fall more in the western parts where its effects will begin to appear.

¶ The other, indeed, second constellation that occurs this year will be an eclipse of the Moon on Saturday, the twenty-sixth of October, and it will happen in the thirteenth degree of Taurus. And it will begin to be obscured for us under the earth on the eastern side at the twenty-third hour, with almost thirty-five minutes, with the Libra degree ascending. The middle of it will be at the first hour of the night with almost fifteen minutes, with the fifth degree of Scorpio ascending. Its end, indeed, will be at the second hour of the night with almost fifty-four minutes, with the thirteenth degree of Scorpio ascending. The effects of this eclipse will begin immediately after its appearance, and this is because there will be no distance of degrees between the ascendant of the eclipse and its place. And these effects will last for almost three months, and this is because the Moon will suffer an eclipse for that many hours. Its accidents will appear in three places—cities, villages, castles, and buildings—which are of the signification of Taurus and its opposite, and this is because said eclipse will be in the sign of Taurus, Sagittarius, and their opposites, because the significator of the place of the eclipse will be in the sign of Sagittarius and Aquarius and their opposites, because the sign of Aquarius will be in the angle preceding the place of the eclipse, Gemini and its opposites, because it will be in the angle following the place of the eclipse, Libra and its opposites, because the significator of the angle following the place of the eclipse will be in the sign of Libra, by reason of the division of the earth according to the wise, or by reason of the ascendant of the kingdom or sect, or because they are the places of the great conjunction of the significators of the regions, or by reason of the foundation of the city, castle, or village, or building, or by reason of the nativity or revolution of the years of the world as well as of nativities, or otherwise in whatever way, provided it is the beginning of some thing; this is the doctrine of all the wise, and especially of Ptolemy in the second Quadripartiti Four-part treatise and in the penultimate word of his Centilogii Book of One Hundred Aphorisms.

¶ Chapter three concerning fertility and scarcity.

¶ This year will decline toward fertility in regard to the meridian of Italy. However, the prices of grain, wine, honey, and oil will be valued more than usual. These conclusions are proven. For Venus, the almutem the planet with the most dignity of the fourth house of the prevention preceding the entry of the sun into Aries, is in its exaltation, received by Jupiter from its own house, especially because Mercury, the lord of the place of the aforementioned prevention, although it is received in detriment, nevertheless is received from both fortunes of heaven—namely, from Jupiter, the greater fortune, from its own house with mutual reception, Jupiter itself being in the house of substance although retrograde—and from Venus, the lesser fortune, it is received from exaltation and through corporeal conjunction. To this, the luminaries are added, because after the aforementioned prevention and the revolution of the mundane year, it approaches the square of the lesser fortune, namely Mars, in the form of the Moon itself...
