which, in the entry figure, is the lady of the house of substance and completes all, approaches the sextile of the greater misfortune, namely Saturn, existing in the fourth, unfortunate although in its exaltation. Similarly, from the places of the prices of wheat and oil, which remain in the midheaven near the Sun, the lord of the year, and the lord of the price of honey, and which similarly remain in the square of Mars, the lords of those places. The same is true from the part of fortune and wine, along with Venus and Mercury, since they are oriental in the same angle of the midheaven, as Nomare says: when Venus in the revolution of the year is oriental to the Sun, it multiplies fruits, makes everything fertile, and makes for an abundance of victuals. I fear, however, that in spring or thereabouts, it may generate harmful worms for vines, trees, plants, or fruits, with the blowing of winds and some added hail due to the existence of Mars and the Dragon's Head in earthy signs. Likewise, the wise say that when the Sun, the soul of the world, has been condemned by an eclipse, as happens in the present year, they say similarly that the air will be condemned, especially because Mercury, the lord of the place of the previous eclipse and now the lord of the ascendant of the mundane year and the fourth house, namely the eclipse, was at that time equidistant to the solstitial sign, which also has to influence the collecting and keeping of fruits. In the second half of the year, the things mentioned above will continue in the same way, and Mercury is clearly the almutem the planet with the most dignity of the place of the conjunction and the lord of the ascendant of the aforementioned conjunction preceding the entry of the Sun into Libra in the second house, which is the house of substance, received by Saturn from exaltation and similarly by Venus from the house of the contradictory, although Jupiter, the lord of the fourth house of the conjunction aforementioned preceding Libra, is in the ascendant in its detriment and under the Sun's rays, and the same lord of the ascendant and fourth house of the revolution of Libra is also in detriment in the midheaven and under the Sun's rays.

Chapter four concerning the plague.

This year, according to celestial dispositions, will not be free nor clean from plague; rather, in most places of Italy, the plague will be manifest, and it will be full of diverse sicknesses, such as bloody fevers, infirmities in the belly and lung, phthisis, pains of the kidneys and back, epilepsy, apoplexy, pains of the womb and its provocations, pleurisy, coughs, spitting, and the descent of water in the eyes, especially in the end, and corruptive and pestilential qualities will appear in the air. These conclusions are proven, firstly by considering the lord of the sign of the great orbit, namely the Sun, which in the present revolution is the lord of the year, the significator of the people, and the lord of the ascendant of the prevention preceding the entry of the Sun into Aries, and it was to be condemned by the eclipse in the past year, and similarly condemned in the present under the lordship of Mercury, which, in the feminine house and its triplicity, will suffer an eclipse, especially because the sign of Gemini, in which it suffered, will also suffer in the present year in many places of Italy at the time of the revolution.
