the opposition of the son, and from these will be born the dissensions of peoples and rebellions against their own lords. Woe to the lands subject to Sagittarius, woe to the Neapolitan kingdom, for foreigners will come into the land, as it appeared from the prophecy of the Sibyl prophetess, in a conflict of dogs, and it will begin from the part of the east and south and will end toward the north and west, the work of which will last long, as Bernies says, and it will be difficult to dissolve. For it follows from this, the deposition or death of some king or great duke, and perhaps it will begin before the start of summer. I know this prophecy of mine will seem impossible or false to many people and potentates of Italy, fatigued by the difficulties of the previous war and having agreed upon a near-universal peace, not entirely, but let them know that I do not fear the idle talk of men, but the doctrine of good authors, on account of the sign of the great circle, the projections, and the dividers designated above, and especially the future eclipse, about which we will speak a little later.

Fifth: Regarding the state of men in general.

The lord of the ascendant, Saturn, being retrograde in the royal house, signifies that the common people will be moved against the king, so that the king will regret having treated his subjects badly, and that they are treated badly by their lords and almost oppressed by them. And because Jupiter is the significator of the king, and Saturn is then joined to it and opposite to Mars, these things I have said seem to be feared, and to be implicated in long illnesses, and ulcers to form on the groins, and pains of the head and eyes on account of the solar eclipse. But not before the middle of summer. And losses in livestock, and after that, acute illnesses generated from the excessive dryness, unless God averts it, and these will happen especially in the lands of Gemini, Sagittarius, and Aries and their opposite and square [signs]. And there will happen from the part of the east things almost wonderful and stupendous which will happen under the guise of hypocrisy, about which the whole world will speak. These will be done by men hiding their own counsels, and those who have imposed unjust burdens on subjects will repent that they have done evil to them. Good things, however, will be the marriages of the year and the easy births of women. Many this year will either be hanged, or will die weakened by torments, or will be put to the cross.
