Prognosticon for 1486 and 1487

Hence Jupiter flashes, throwing flames from on high,
And aged Saturn bristles with cold and rain,
And pours out heavy storms, and the planet of Venus
Renders the most peaceful times for human health,
And covers and protects my Romans into the years.
From these diverse motions, it is gathered that the stars
Do not always keep equal turns in time.
For the wandering stars do not assume similar powers
Before the temples. The measure of the triangle is different.
In others, they are opposed; add the malignant ones to the squares.
And when the seven stars turn toward the rising,
They sometimes climb opposite in the world.
By different powers also, the stars hide their way,
And in many ways, they sweep across the lands, hostile.
Hence all the reason of the sky must be led through art,
And the minds of men and the times must be weighed, which
End for those peoples they rule, whether an immoral race,
Unaccustomed to unspeakable wars by reason of the place.
Or one more secure in peace, who will confer these things
To the orders of fate? It is a labor to discern all things.
And so that what we say may be more evident, in a certain order
Through causes, it is pleasing to open the secret counsels of the gods,
And what the harmful star, from the summit of high Aquarius,
May throw from the highest peak to the lowest of the earth.
What the twin brothers Gemini. may bring forth, what the stars of Mars,
What the distinguished radiance of Jupiter, and what Cytherea Venus. brings back,
Which census the offspring of Maia Mercury. and which the bright Phoebe The Moon. brings.
I will explain; you keep all things under your breast.
It is a secret; move your mind and ear to my words.
