and incline him so that movements of wars, depending on justice, may be ended well.
This pleases the heavens, because a free mind, not subjected to fate, can change the nature of the circling sky.
Counsel toward the better, while the mind becomes conscious of what is right.
And let it restrain greedy motions and burning wraths.
And let it wish to oppose the contrary in a straight path.
But the work of Mars, because it runs through the first quarter of the sky, and because it is the lord of the ascendant in the first quarter of the year and brings it about in spring, and demonstrates the effect of its favor.
¶ There will be an accident of this eclipse by reason of the place in which it was made, toward the north and east in lands subject to Pisces and Aries, and their opposites and squares, and it will begin in the first quarter of this year and will last for two years and a little more. Truly, the eclipse of the previous year will increase in evil accidents and will diminish much of the significance of Jupiter. For although Jupiter rules in the eclipse of this year, nevertheless, because it is in the opposite of its exaltation, and the completion of that conjunction of that year which was of Saturn and Jupiter in 1484, it arrived at Capricorn, to the place of Jupiter itself, namely at the 13th degree of Capricorn, and the divider is Jupiter, which does not diminish much from the goodness of Jupiter. And the completion of the conjunction which preceded the arrival of Christ arrived at Gemini, where Mars is in its third part, which increases the significations of Mars, because Gemini ascends in the beginning of this year and Mars is the divider, but we will explain these more broadly in the following.

Whom may God behold with the eyes of His mercy. These two solar eclipses will be, however, a very great harm to these men and cities which have parts of the eclipse in their rising or in their construction in the ascendant, or have the Sun or the angles of birth or the revolution of the years in them according to the significance of each angle, and especially to those who have the Tail of the Dragon or the Part of Fortune in the said eclipse places, or to those whose places of the year's completion have arrived there.
