Chapter two.

In the first quarter of this year, the price of grain will increase. For Saturn opposite to Mars signifies the devastation of trees and seeds: and for this reason, trees that will bloom quickly will bring few fruits to maturity. In the second quarter, however, there will be fertility, but not excessive, as in the year elapsed. But there will be an abundance of legumes and millet. And because scarcity can happen because of wars and the inundations of rivers: and also because of the bad governance of the city: I except those places where these things might happen. For I say that for Rome, there will be a fertility of grain and wine: if colds and hailstorms avoid the vineyards. For I fear greatly for the hailstorms. At the end of the year, the stars declare the price of grain to increase: I advise those who have vineyards not to wait for the vintage until the beginnings of the autumnal quarter.

Chapter three.

The status of the common people in the first quarter of the year will be better than that of the nobles, although I except those of Mercury and Venus, who will behave well: and will be intent on journeys and gain more than usual. The common people, however, will agree little with their kings: and there will not be lacking various sicknesses but not pestilence. For there is not a strong enough constellation for it among humans, except among cattle. And men will be more religious than usual. It will be otherwise in Tuscany and Lombardy. I wish, however, that the Romans observe the month of May and the beginnings of autumn. For I see the deaths of certain magnates who are subject either to Capricorn or Cancer or Aries: from many adversities. The parts of Egypt, however, will be vexed by pestilence: and the Greeks: similarly, also the Spaniards and the Turks.

Chapter four.

Concerning wars, there is a strong disposition this year almost throughout the whole world: especially in the Northern region: And also in Egypt there is a great signification with the greatest shedding of blood, and the death of a king or great duke. Similarly in Lombardy, Etruria, and Romagna, there is a great and bad signification of this thing. And the war will begin in the month of April: and perhaps a bloody battle will be fought: when Saturn
