If you spot an error, have a suggestion, or just want to say hello — we’d love to hear from you.

When he feels your melodies resonating
Around the air.
Therefore, what happy star brought you forth
Beneath the first axis,
What star of Jove or Minerva
Shone at your birth?
->Conradus Celtis to the divine Frederick->
->the Third, Augustus most invincible, greetings.->
Most invincible Caesar Frederick, I would wish, because of your ineffable benevolence toward all, that you might today bestow upon me such grace and glory from your most sacred majesty that, marked by the laurel of the poetic discipline, you might at least enroll me among the most celebrated bards. Even though this far exceeds my merits and the inherent slowness of my talent, I have nevertheless decided and will strive with all my might, as long as I live, to occupy myself in the most pleasant studies of the Muses. I shall, at least in a humble and unadorned poem, recount your most ample praises—which are spread throughout the whole world—to future ages, in return for this immortal service of yours toward me. Farewell, Caesar, moderator of the world.
