Erotic Couple, Konark Sun Temple

This sandstone relief, located on the exterior wall of a monumental Hindu temple, depicts an embracing couple carved in high relief within a recessed niche. The male figure holds the female figure, who has her left leg raised and wrapped around his waist, while their upper bodies are pressed together in a frontal pose.
