Regarding using short techniques for long range, there is "Single-handed Stabbing Spear" and "Blade Leaving the Sheath: Wind Rolling Through Fallen Leaves." Regarding swapping hands, there is "Splitting the Mountain" and "Splitting Wood." Regarding swapping to the yin hand, there is "Iron Fan Clamped in the Robe."
Furthermore, one may alternate left and right, change from front to back, or in between. One may lift the root of the staff or grasp the middle. One may point to the rear while attacking the front, or strike the left to break the right. One may fight the many with the few, or overcome the strong with the weak. If the enemy recognizes the stab, I then strike. If the enemy recognizes the strike, I then stab.
