"Shuttling" original: "Chuan suo" is also a Shaolin staff technique. The root and the tip move back and forth as if weaving through a shuttle; one extends, one retracts, moving left and right, front and back. It is a technique used to open a session or initiate an engagement. It consists of only one path and is a flexible method; because there are no fixed postures, it cannot be illustrated.
