Assigned Defense Zones under Yingtian Prefecture

The patrol officer of Shangyuan County, the zhubu district registrar, supervises the Chunhua Town inspection office, which includes one xunjian patrol inspector and 32 archers. This office was originally established to guard the land routes and possessed no boats. According to old regulations, they were to patrol the river with officers and soldiers from the Xinjiankou camp, which had no connection to this county. Although the town does not border the river, it is a strategic throat of the southern capital territory. To the north, it reaches Gaoqiaomen, 20 li from the capital, and to the south, it reaches Tuchiao shop in Jurong County, 30 li away. It is now proposed that the 32 archers be divided into three shifts, rotating every ten days. When stationed, they act as garrison troops. When deployed, they act as patrol troops. Each patrol reaches Gaoqiaomen in the north and Tuchiao in the south, meeting with the volunteer militia of Jurong County, while remaining under the command of the patrol officer.
