It promotes the suppressed menses of elderly and young women, especially if it is also rightly administered externally at the same time: by which method many are happily cured who would otherwise miserably perish. It heats and cleanses the womb better than all other Medicines and renders it fit for its function: it also preserves it from all accidents causing sterility and other most serious diseases and death. It expels the water of dropsical persons through urine; it rarefies and dries up the superfluous humidities of internal and external parts, like the Sun drying and consuming waters, by which means the body recovers its former health. Regarding other particular diseases, there is no need to write much, because it can be usefully employed in all without distinction and in each one, as a catholic medicine, in the old and in the young. This Medicine not only restores lost health, but also preserves present health until the predetermined time.
Its dose is from 3, 6, 9, up to 12 gr. or gutt. [drops], or more; for children, however, 1, 2, or 3, to be administered daily in the morning with appropriate vehicles, or even with wine and beer; and it is also permissible to repeat the dose a few times during the day, having taken into account the nature of the illness.
Do not, however, be offended by the insults of the calumniator of this little book (of which the devil, with his lying scales, is always the author), firmly believing that the time approaches when, by that divine anger, they will at last be consumed like straw.
